Avril Chester, the Author

Be with me, It's c

Currently out of print

A book containing poems and adaptations; to accompany you with the big c.

It’s also for family and friends who wish to learn; and offer more than a cup of tea.

To encourage you all to write your feelings; scribbling notes, fears and dreams is key.

Breast cancer sparks so many emotions; this is for you and me.

Taking that leap of faith

Author of 'Be with me, It’s c' and senior technology leader Avril Chester is going it alone.

Embarking on her new social enterprise and tech start-up called Cancer Central, she is writing her next book, ‘Taking that leap of faith’ along the way.

This is her first year. What could possibly happen?

Technology Entrepreneur

Avril realised the need for Cancer Central when she was being treated for breast cancer in 2015/16 and began her mission to build Cancer Central in January 2018.

Cancer Central is the first award-winning HealthTech cancer platform using AI to guide people affected by cancer to find the support and information they need.

You're going through enough already which is why Avril's vision for Cancer Central is to become the go to place to find cancer information & support.

Everyone involved in Cancer Central volunteers in their spare time.
The entire site is donated for you.

Cancer Central's award-winning chatbot Ask Ave also helped during the pandemic. Watch how a collaboration between Cancer Central, Ensono (formally Amido) and NHS 24 enabled Scotland's NHS Inform to meet huge spikes in enquiries.

With your help, we can keep Cancer Central running for everyone to use, free from advertising and messaging charges. Thank you for your kind donation and support.

Avril attends the Steering Committee of the UK Association for Supportive Cancer Care (UKASCC), in the role of patient / public representation.
